Qigong itself is an ancient healing technology and revitalized science of energy healing, developed through more than 5000 years of Chinese history. Energy is alive. Energy wants to move. Energy wants to connect. The more freely energy flows, the more alive and healthy we are, body, mind and spirit, and the more happy and joyous and free!
This energy which animates all life is referred to as Chi, (pronounced ‘Chee’) or spelled “Qi” as in Qigong. Qi means “life energy” and “gong” means working with it and cultivation of its benefits, cultivating our capacity and our confidence in fostering greater health, happiness and well-being.
Wisdom Healing Qigong with its “Qigong for Life” focus guides your mind to access more directly, more deeply and more gently the natural universal energy of life all around us and within us. As Wisdom Healing Qigong Master Mingtong Gu so often reminds us, “Where the mind goes, energy flows”.
As a Certified Level One Wisdom Healing Qigong Instructor I offer classes in the St. John’s at The Lantern, 35 Barnes Road. Fall 2017 classes at The Lantern extend for 8 weeks from mid-October to mid-December.

The practice of Wisdom Healing Qigong itself as taught by Master Mingtong Gu guides you to access this energy of life to calm your mind, re-energize your body and your life by releasing the energy blockages caused by stress.
Through posture alignment, gentle movement, visualization, sound, breathing and conscious intention, the ancient practice of Qigong energy healing dynamically restores the life energy and creative power within you.
A key and constant focus with Mingtong is the releasing of energy blockages, whatever their source, and thus the creating and fostering of new, healthier energy patterns for greater health and happiness and fulfillment of life.
As the underlying causes of life’s challenges are released, you reconnect with the universal source and bring new and vital energy streams into the flow of life. With consistent daily practice, you amplify a web of positive changes for you, your loved ones, and all life on all kinds of levels.
Among the many styles of Qigong, Zhineng (Tszu-nen) Qigong, known as Wisdom Healing™ Qigong, is said to be one of the most powerful. Translated literally, Zhineng Qigong means “Cultivating Wisdom Energy Ability.”

About Mingtong Gu
“Mingtong lives what he teaches, exudes vibrancy and love,
supports the empowerment and health of each person
and shares his experience and knowledge
as a wisdom master.”
– Bruce Fabric, M.D., Board Certified Psychiatrist
Master Mingtong Gu is an internationally recognized teacher and healer, teaching Qigong to thousands of people in the USA, China, and Europe. He trained with a variety of Grandmasters in China, including Dr. Pang Ming, a Qigong Grandmaster trained in Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Pang synthesized his profound medical knowledge of old and new healing sciences into this ancient Qigong practice of self-healing for our modern pragmatic world. He had founded in the 1980’s what later grew into the world’s largest Qigong hospital, a “medicine-less” hospital, the Zhineng Qigong Center, in China which has treated over 200,000 patients, with over 185 different illnesses, and with a 95% effective improvement rate. Extremely well documented research is readily available. Link to be re-posted here shortly. Sorry the original link recently got deleted somehow.
In 1997 Mingtong returned to China to study with Dr. Pang and to train at the hospital. There he observed thousands of cases of chronic and “incurable” diseases being healed.Witnessing these profound healing experiences inspired his dedication to the teaching and practice of Qigong healing.
Through this practice, he recovered from his own chronic conditions of severe asthma, scoliosis, back pain and kidney weakness.
In working with his students he found his life passion, purpose, and fulfillment in this union of spiritual practice and healing wisdom.
Mingtong was named Qigong Master of the Year by the 13th World Congress for Qigong and TCM in 2012, and is the founder of the Chi Center, formerly based at EarthRise at IONS in Petaluma, California, and relocated in October 2016 to an amazing site in Galisteo, NM.
Despite having earlier also earned several Masters Degrees while studying in the US, including in Math and The Fine Arts, Mingtong is quick to claim that the most important Mastery is that of oneself for one’s own self-healing and empowerment and for the healing of our whole Earth.
Master Gu’s teaching emphasizes activating the power of inner self-healing which facilitates the release of chronic illness, while improving health and well-being. Deep awakening and transformation typically arise in this process of healing. Wisdom Healing™ Qigong integrates many forms of traditional Qigong with Eastern and Western medicine. It is a concentrated and powerful system engaging all levels of physical, mental, emotional, and soulful healing.
Through posture, movement, sound, vizualization, breath and mental concentration, Qigong offers a methodology to rediscover the inner medicine – chi, the vital and natural healing resource within us. It does more than magnify the exchange of energy between ourselves and nature. In the process it enables us to fuse as One with the infinite creative power of the universe that ultimately is the origin of love, compassion, and the source of all healing.
“Master Mingtong Gu has brought a level of transmission of mind-body practice
that is unparalleled in my experience. Since making these teachings available to patients
in my medical practice, they become healthier and happier.”
– Brian Bouch, MD, Director of Hill Park Medical Center
“Mingtong is full of vitality, wisdom and skill. He is a real healer,
and the practices he teaches can change your life.”
– Jack Kornfield, Ph.D. co-founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center
and the author of several bestselling books.
