These 8-week sessions start in January, April and September, with morning or afternoon, as well as evening classes available, and run for an hour and a half once a week. Classes are designed for both new and returning students.
For T’ai Chi Chih the Beginners class covers all 20 moves in a particular sequence, usually adding two or three new moves each week after reviewing previously learned moves, each class ending with a silent group practice of the moves learned so far.Students may opt to do the Beginners class more than once to help deepen and refine their practice or move on to do the Beyond Beginners class. Once students have done one full session at the Beginners level and feel fairly comfortable with all the moves, the Beyond Beginners classes focus more deeply on the key principles of T’ai Chi Chih as we work on refinements, applying these principles to the various moves. Each class would end with a full silent practice.
For Wisdom Healing Qigong the class covers all 6 introductory Awakening Vitality movements over the 8-week period, adding new moves each week after reviewing previously learned moves until the set is complete. Each class would continue the practice and review, while adding a variety of other practice components and teachings.
Students may opt to do the on-going class more than once to help deepen and refine their practice and maximize its benefits. Returning students are encouraged and supported in focusing more inwardly and hence more deeply on the key principles and their many and varied applications in their day to day living.
Introductory sessions are occasionally offered as Retreat Reflection Days at our Presentation Sisters Retreat House on Virginia Lake in Virginia Waters (just off Logy Bay Road near NTV). These sessions are open to both new and returning students … a mix of quiet time and time for both new teaching as well as refresh and review time. Time varies from 1/2 day 9:30 – 12:30 or 12:30 – 3:30 to full day from 9:30 – 3:30.
Cost: Suggested offering of $15 for 1/2 day or $30 for full day or pay whatever you can contribute

T’ai Chi Chih 6 or 8-hour weekend sessions have in the past been offered winter, spring and fall, both in the St. John’s area and in other areas of the province, pending interest. These involve three sessions – one Friday evening, one Saturday morning, and one Saturday afternoon. They are designed for both beginning and returning students, and combine new teaching with review and refining of movements for both levels of students.
Wisdom Healing Qigong sessions I have only the past year begun to offer. Weekends could be an option depending on interest.
COST: $60 for the weekend … negotiable based on need …
Seijaku – Advanced form of T’ai Chi Chih
This 8-week class introduces students to the advanced form of T’ai Chi Chih which is called Seijkau (pronounced say-jaw-coo, with the accent on the last syllable). It is intended only for those students who have been faithfully practicing T’ai Chi Chih daily for at least 6 months to a year and are quite comfortable with all the moves. Seikaku incorporates a different application of the T’ai Chi Chih softness principle for heightened Chi flow. It has been offered in the past pending student interest and readiness, and as my schedule allows.
COST:$80 or $10/week or pay what you can contribute
